Wedding Box Tradition

There are so many beautiful traditions a couple can incorporate into their ceremony; such as the Unity Candle, Sand Ceremony, Wooden Box Ceremony The Exchanging of the Rose and so forth, however there was one idea that was brought to my attention by a bride to research, called The Ceremony Of The Wooden Box. This by far has to be one of the most unique and romantic ideas that has been created.

What makes the Ceremony of the Wooden Box so Special:

It's a visual symbol of your commitment and marriage bonds.
It's a life-preserver on the sometimes rough river of relationships.
It's a unique and beautiful touch on your wedding day.

The most important part of this Wooden Box Ceremony is the letter the bride and groom will write to each other expressing their feelings, why and how they fell in love and their hopes and dreams for the future because of their presence in their lives. I can not express enough emphazis on the writing of these letters. It is also much better if you don't tell your guests, family and friends and your wedding party about this as it adds a unique form of energy throughout the audience.

The letters are then place in the box and nailed shut during the ceremony. There are only two ways to open up the box. First, if there is a time in your marriage where you feel that you are in danger of not saving your marriage, then you both as a couple open up the box, drink some wine together and then read the notes you wrote to each other. The theory is that those letters would bring you back to the day you were married and give you an understanding that the love you share is much stronger than the problem that exists at the time you opened the box. Secondly, the Wooden Box is to be opened on your 10th Wedding Anniversary. This too will allow you to rekindle that special love that you had prior to your wedding day.

This is why we created the Ceremonial Wooden Box. Our Wooden Boxes are all hand made in the USA and have one unique thing in common; all of them have a special cut out on the top with Plexiglass under it.

Why the cut-out?

This enables the couple to display the box in their home and as they walk by the box the letters will be visible therefore creating a constant reminder of what opening up the box represents.
